What are orthotics?
Foot Levelers custom orthotics are inserts for your shoes that are made specifically for your feet and body profile. They provide extra comfort and support for all three arches of your feet to help relieve painful foot, knee, ankle, and even low back symptoms.
Custom orthotics are different from over-the-counter orthotics, which typically only support one arch in your foot and can actually contribute to additional problems instead of providing relief. Foot Levelers match the contours of your feet exactly, and are designed to assist your movements.
How do custom orthotics help relieve pain?
When the arches in your feet are not properly supported, it can put stress on your ankles, knees, hips, and even your neck. Custom orthotics provide the exact support you need to help alleviate numerous biomechanical conditions and subluxated joints.
Custom Foot Levelers orthotics can relieve pain from a variety of conditions, including:
- Low back pain
- Hip pain
- Sciatica
- Knee pain
- Plantar fasciitis
- Pronation (flat feet)
- Achilles tendonitis
- Drop foot
- Difference in leg length
- Foot pain
Custom orthotics may also be able to provide relief from painful foot problems like bunions, hammertoes, and ball-of-foot pain, without surgery.
What is pronation?
Pronation, or “flat feet” means you have fallen arches. Flat feet are much less shock-absorbant and make the rest of your body less stable. If you have flat feet, it may:
- Cause pain in your feet, knees, hips, neck, and spine
- Lead to problems like shin splints and tendonitis
- Cause low back pain, especially in women
Pronation happens when the connective tissue in your feet (plantar fascia) stretch and flatten, usually as the result of injury or the everyday stress of standing for prolonged periods of time. Once your foot is flat, it can’t return to its arched position.
How are custom orthotics different from shoe inserts?
Since orthotics are custom-molded to fit your feet, they offer better support and correction than generic shoe inserts. Additionally, orthotics can correct many biomechanical foot problems and chronic problems, whereas shoe inserts only provide support.
